Sometimes a bridged damp proof course could be bridged because of high external ground levels, or perhaps the internal plaster, and it could even be because of a solid floor. A bridged damp proof course could occur on an internal dividing wall, and even on an external wall. A non intrusive damp survey perhaps like a pre purchase damp survey will not be able to pick this up, because it is highly unlikely that the damp surveyor will be able to remove a section of skirting board or a chunk of plaster. Even when this has been investigated rarely are the drains inspected as part of the damp investigation, but it is imperative that these are and the root cause found.
